Project Description
BREAST SURGERY
Surgical procedures will be performed at accredited day service facilities
Breast augmentation is the surgical procedure that allows for an increase in breast volume, the restoration of breast size and firmness following significant weight loss or pregnancy, or the correction of asymmetries.
The choice of technique we will use for implant placement will depend on the anatomy of the breast region, the characteristics of the chest, and the patient's height.
During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate your health status and physical characteristics (including the size of the glandular tissue, skin tone, and your chest) and choose the surgical solution and type of implant that will best match the patient's wishes.
The access pathways (and therefore the residual scars from the procedure) will be either through the areola or the inframammary fold; the implant placement site will be under the mammary gland, under the muscle plane, or in a combined plane (Dual Plane).
When performed correctly, breast augmentation surgery does not interfere with the ability to breastfeed or with the sensitivity of the nipple-areola complex.
Following the surgery, surgical drains may be placed to be kept for a few days; you will need to wear a post-operative bra for at least 1 month, day and night.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia; therefore, the surgery involves an overnight hospital stay.
In cases where we jointly determine that, in addition to a lack of breast volume, there is also a loss of skin tone or an actual excess of skin, we will combine the breast augmentation technique with a mastopexy, which involves the remodeling of the breast skin envelope.
In these cases, the skin scars will be more extensive compared to a simple breast augmentation, very often involving periareolar, vertical, and inframammary fold scars (inverted-T). However, the benefit of achieving breasts of the desired shape and volume, with greater firmness and a more pleasing appearance, far outweighs any disappointment regarding the presence of more numerous scars.
Following the surgery, surgical drains may be placed to be kept for a few days; you will need to wear a post-operative bra for at least 1 month, day and night.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia; therefore, the surgery involves an overnight hospital stay.
Breast reduction is the surgical procedure that allows for the reduction of the breasts; it is indicated in cases of hypertrophic, voluminous, and even asymmetrical breasts, guaranteeing stable and long-lasting results over time with natural-looking breasts.
The mammary gland is particularly exposed to the effects of hormonal stimulation both during puberty and pregnancy, and can therefore increase in volume to the point of reaching extreme dimensions (gigantomastia).
There are two types of breast hypertrophy: those typical of young patients (virginal hypertrophy), featuring an increase during puberty that predominantly affects the glandular component; and those more typical of adult patients, involving an increase in both the glandular and adipose components, which typically occurs after pregnancies or weight gain.
Usually, hypertrophy leads to faulty postural habits, such as kyphosis or scoliosis of the spine, is often associated with troublesome inframammary dermatitis, and impacts the performance of normal daily activities, such as sports, as well as social and sexual relations more broadly. For these reasons, the procedure is recommended for the rapid resolution of symptoms, starting from a young age.
Scars from a breast reduction depend on the type of technique used. Often, to achieve a good result that is as natural as possible and stable over the long term, a scar around the areola (periareolar) will not be enough; a vertical scar (from the areola to the inframammary fold) and a horizontal scar running along the inframammary fold (inverted-T) will also be necessary. These scars are required, and over time, their quality and appearance will improve.
Breast reduction surgery may interfere with the ability to breastfeed and with the sensitivity of the nipple-areola complex, as it requires a reduction of both the adipose and glandular components.
During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate your health status, breast diagnostic imaging tests (recent ultrasounds and mammograms), and your physical characteristics (including the size of the glandular volume and skin tone) and choose the most suitable surgical solution.
Following the surgery, surgical drains will be placed and kept in for a few days; you will need to wear a post-operative bra for at least 1 month, day and night.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia; therefore, the surgery involves an overnight hospital stay.
Breast lift (mastopexy) is the surgical procedure aimed at lifting sagging (ptosis) breasts, restoring a pleasing, youthful, and natural shape to the breast.
The mammary gland is a skin appendage and, along with its cutaneous covering, undergoes all age-related changes, particularly regarding the loss of skin elasticity. This creates a sort of discrepancy between the skin envelope and the glandular tissue, leading to tissue sagging that, combined with gravity, causes the breast to drop. At times, ptosis can manifest prematurely, after significant weight fluctuations, or following pregnancies. Furthermore, if a concomitant loss of volume has also occurred, it is possible to intervene by inserting implants as well to regain that volume.
All of this is accomplished by repositioning and remodeling the skin and the mammary glandular tissue, elevating the nipple-areola complex back to its correct position, and removing the excess skin.
Scars from a breast lift depend on the type of technique used. Often, to achieve a good result that remains stable over time, a scar around the areola will not be enough; a vertical scar and a horizontal scar running along the inframammary fold (inverted-T) will also be necessary. These scars are required, and over time, they will improve.
The breast lift procedure (mastopexy), if performed correctly, does not interfere with the ability to breastfeed or with the sensitivity of the nipple-areola complex.
In cases where, in addition to excess skin, there is a volume deficit, it will be possible to place breast implants (BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH IMPLANTS).
Following the surgery, surgical drains may be placed to be kept for a few days; you will need to wear a post-operative bra for at least 1 month, day and night.
L’intervento viene eseguito in anestesia generale; pertanto l’intervento prevede una notte di ricovero.
Gynecomastia is a condition affecting males, involving both youths and adults, which leads to an abnormal overdevelopment of the breasts and results in psychological and physical distress.
It can affect one or both breasts, be more or less symmetrical, and have a greater glandular component (true gynecomastia), adipose tissue component (false/pseudo-gynecomastia), or a mixture of both (most frequent). The former is usually associated with endocrine-related pathological conditions or secondary to medications (anabolic steroids, psychiatric drugs, etc.). The latter, on the other hand, is typical of individuals presenting with localized adiposity.
It can present during adolescence or adulthood, and the condition is typically associated with body dysmorphia, psychological distress, and a sensation of breast pain.
The surgical procedure will consist of a liposuction of the thoraco-mammary region, with a potential adenectomy (removal of the gland) to flatten the area. The necessary scars will consist of multiple small incisions in the case of liposuction alone, and a periareolar scar if removing the mammary gland is required. Finally, there is the possibility—such as in cases of skin laxity or patients with a history of significant weight loss—that the excess skin is more extensive, requiring an additional accessory scar in the inframammary zone. Nevertheless, the benefit of achieving a flat chest that aligns with male aesthetic standards far outweighs any disappointment regarding the presence of more numerous scars.
During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate your health status, breast diagnostic imaging tests (recent ultrasound), and your physical characteristics, and we will choose the surgical solution best suited to the patient.
Following the surgery, surgical drains might be placed to be kept for a few days; you will need to wear a post-operative chest compression vest for at least 1 month, day and night.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia; therefore, the surgery involves an overnight hospital stay.
