Facial Capillary Laser Therapy

Laser therapy for the treatment of vascular lesions of the face is a technology that, thanks to the emission of carefully selected light energy, makes it possible to target the desired chromophore (oxyhemoglobin) without damaging the surrounding tissues.

It is a very safe and effective system for the treatment of:

• facial telangiectasias or broken capillaries
• angiomas
• couperose or rosacea
• capillaries in the under‑eye area 
• capillaries of the neck and décolleté

• The oxyhemoglobin contained in these lesions absorbs the light emitted by the laser and converts it into heat, which denatures the walls of the unwanted vessels or capillaries, causing them to coagulate and gradually shrink until they disappear.

The eyes are first protected with special goggles. No anesthesia is needed, as the treatment is well tolerated and feels like only mild discomfort or a slight burning sensation.

In the case of more extensive lesions, multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve the desired result.

It is essential to avoid direct sun exposure and UVA lamps for 30 days before and 30 days after the treatment, to prevent overstimulation of melanin and the possible formation of post‑treatment pigmentation spots.

It is also important to protect the skin by using a sunscreen with an SPF higher than 30.

After the treatment, the skin becomes more sensitive and red, symptoms that disappear spontaneously within a few hours.

In some cases, the treated area may show mild to moderate swelling, which disappears after a few hours or within one day at most.

The patient can apply makeup immediately after the treatment.
