Project Description

FACIAL AND NECK SURGERY

Surgical procedures will be performed at accredited day service facilities

Rhinoplasty is the surgical procedure aimed at correcting the shape and size of the nose by reshaping its cartilaginous and bony components, creating a nose that is harmonious with the rest of the face.

In the event that there are functional problems such as a deviated nasal septum or turbinate hypertrophy, the respiratory issue is corrected along with the cosmetic rhinoplasty through a procedure called septorhinoplasty (functional rhinoplasty).

Very often, the patient complains about a hump (a bump on the bridge of the nose) or a nasal tip that may be excessively large, pronounced, or drooping. It is fundamental to understand that because of the complexity of its interconnected internal structures and its essential respiratory function, the nose is very frequently treated as a whole.

There are open rhinoplasty techniques (with scars at the level of the columella) or closed ones (with scars inside the nostrils), excisional or structural, and increasingly the surgery aims to reconstruct or strengthen the various nasal components through the harvesting and use of cartilage grafts (from the concha of the ear or from the ribs).

During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate the patient's health status, the diagnostic tests for internal assessment (CT scan of the facial skeleton), and the facial features (such as any associated chin deficit), and choose the most suitable surgical solution for the patient.

Following the surgery, nasal packs may be placed to be kept for a few days; you will need to wear a nasal splint/cast for 5 days.

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and therefore requires an overnight hospital stay.

A face lift, or rhytidectomy, is the surgical procedure designed to rejuvenate and restore a more youthful overall appearance to the face.

The primary objective of a facelift is to reduce the signs resulting from the natural aging process, prolonged sun exposure, genetics, and lifestyle factors, which lead to the appearance of thick and heavy wrinkles, a loss of definition in the face and neck, and a tired look.

An increasing number of adults, both male and female, undergo this type of surgical procedure. Unlike medical treatments (fillers, botulinum toxin), a facelift allows for the reshaping of the lower third of the face and the neck, providing long-lasting results.

The surgical procedure aims to reposition the facial tissues by removing excess skin, repositioning the underlying tissues (adipose tissue and SMAS/muscles), and thus smoothing wrinkles. Very often, a facelift is combined with a neck lift to provide a complete rejuvenation.

A facelift is a highly customized procedure tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient. During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate the patient's health status, discuss their concerns and expectations, and assess the various available options together. The surgeon will evaluate the patient's facial anatomy and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Le cicatrici saranno di solito nascoste nella linea dei capelli e intorno alle orecchie. L’intervento viene eseguito in anestesia generale con una notte di ricovero.

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and therefore requires an overnight hospital stay. Usually, there is a return to normal work activities in about ten days.

Otoplasty is the surgical procedure that allows for the correction of floppy or prominent ears (bat ears), by reshaping the ear itself and its cartilaginous components.

It can be symmetrical or asymmetrical; in these cases, we will decide together whether to treat only one side or both ears.

This condition of prominent ears has multiple causes and is most frequently characterized by an underdevelopment (hypoplasia) of the antihelical fold or by an overdevelopment (hypertrophy) of the concha of the ear.

It often causes significant psychological distress in patients of both sexes, greatly impacting facial aesthetics and forcing them to camouflage their ears with long hair grown specifically for this purpose.

It affects patients from pediatric to adult age, influencing social relationships from school age through to working life.

Otoplasty can in fact be performed from the age of 14 and up.

During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate the patient's health status and facial features (such as any asymmetries), and choose the most suitable surgical solution for the patient.

The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia with no overnight stay required.  In children, however, or in less cooperative patients, it can also be performed under conscious sedation or general anesthesia, thus requiring appropriate post-operative monitoring with a hospital stay.

The patient will need to wear a tennis headband/ear compression band day and night for at least 3-4 weeks.

This procedure targets excess skin and fat bags that often create a heavy or tired appearance, restoring freshness and definition to the eyes without altering their natural shape.

Very often, candidates for the procedure are also young individuals, who are usually genetically predisposed to eyelid bags.

It is a procedure usually performed on an outpatient basis, during which both excess eyelid skin and adipose herniations (the so-called "bags"), as well as muscle tissue, are removed. Sometimes, it is possible to proceed with the repositioning of the fat components.

Blepharoplasty can also improve vision in cases where excess eyelid tissue interferes with the visual field, usually the upper-lateral quadrant.

The scars will be hidden within the natural fold of the eye in the case of upper blepharoplasty; in the case of complete blepharoplasty (upper and lower), the scars may also be located along the lower eyelash line or hidden inside the eye (transconjunctival).

Usually, this procedure can be combined with canthopexy (lifting of the outer corner of the eye), a brow lift (raising the eyebrow), or a temporal lift (lifting the entire temple area).

During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate the patient's health status, as well as the characteristics of the eyelids and face, and choose the most suitable surgical solution for the patient.

Usually, the procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. If combined with other surgical procedures, it will be carried out under conscious sedation or general anesthesia, with the possibility of a hospital stay.

Usually, there is a return to normal work activities in about 7–10 days.

Mentoplasty is the surgical procedure aimed at modifying the shape and size of the chin, making it more harmonious and balanced with the rest of the face and helping to boost your confidence.

This procedure can be performed for several reasons, including:

  • Chin augmentation: To improve the proportion of the chin relative to the rest of the face.
  • Chin reduction: To correct a prominent or excessively protruding chin.
  • Chin restructuring: To correct asymmetries or congenital deformities.
  • Facial harmonization: To achieve an aesthetic balance between the chin, nose, and other facial features.

The procedure can be performed using various techniques, including the use of chin implants or reduction mentoplasties.

It offers long-lasting results that gradually improve over time, and the scars will be, depending on the chosen surgical technique, inside the mouth or in a small incision within the submental crease.

During the consultation, we will jointly evaluate the patient's health status, as well as the characteristics of the chin and face, and choose the most suitable surgical solution for the patient. It can often be combined with other surgical procedures, such as rhinoplasty.

The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis or under general anesthesia with a clinic stay, depending on the circumstances.

Usually, there is a return to normal work activities within a few weeks.
